Unbuilt
Newrybar
Retreat house
A new hilltop residence above the Byron Bay
hinterland offers a family of several generations a
rambling country retreat, designed for privacy and
comfort, tuned to its setting and climate.
Family plan
Siting of the residence balances light and
panoramic views – from Byron to Lennox Head –
with cooling summer breezes. Its courtyard plan
incorporates two self-contained wings of three
bedrooms each, plus a larger congregational
space and a services wing – all connected by
covered breezeways enclosing a sheltered central
garden.
Robust materials will reference the local rural
vernacular, adding refinement of line and detail.
Interiors are crafted for relaxed comfort and
longevity.
